I have always envisioned sparks flying to a grinder…. maybe some up close blurry shots where you can’t see too good but you can tell something’s being built. Maybe something from NASA, a spaceship perhaps

This track is like a full movie even by itself. You hear how Reznor and Ross create a story, there’s a theme of Zuckerberg’s loneliness, and underneath his loneliness there’s ideas wobbling in his mind. And at 2:26 when guitars are starting to scream this sorrow melody like a siren - thats the birth of THE idea. The track’s ending with Zuck’s theme melody once again, but this final time played with a robot-sounding synth, showing us that in the end Mark becomes soulless.
